The Club

Welcome to Twyford & Ruscombe Cricket Club

It was on a summer’s day way back in 1791 when the first sounds of leather on willow were heard in Twyford. A mere 230 something years later, the club is still going strong, and looking to the future.

Situated in the delightful surroundings of Stanlake Meadow, in the fast expanding village of Twyford, the vibrant club now has over 150 registered juniors and three adult weekend sides. With two adult teams in the Berkshire Cricket League, and a friendly Sunday side playing at weekends, plus T20 and indoor teams, there's an opportunity for everyone to get a game.

The junior section has expanded rapidly in recent years through a structure of professional and qualified club coaches supported by a fantastic team of volunteers. It truly is a spectacular sight to see so many boys and girls enjoying the great game of cricket at their training sessions and matches.

Whilst we can't promise sunshine, massive scores, and huge hauls of wickets, we can guarantee a warm welcome and a great club atmosphere.

Open Age Cricket

TRCC runs three adult sides.

The First Team and Second Teams play in Divisions 2 and 4 of the Berkshire Cricket League respectively on Saturdays.

We also run a Sunday side offering friendly, competitive games at some of the most beautiful grounds in the area – including the best teas!

Junior Cricket

Junior cricket is thriving at TRCC.

Despite the Junior Section being less than 10 years old, we now have more than 150 young cricketers aged between 6 and 15 attending training sessions at Stanlake Meadow. The sessions are held on our Club Night, every Friday evening between 5.30pm and 8pm from Easter until the end of Summer term.

The young players are given expert tuition by a team of hard-working ECB qualified club coaches, professional coaches from Phil West Cricket Coaching, and club volunteers.

The Junior Section has seen a number of young players move into the adult sides, where they are showing the older players a thing or two.

Anyone interested in joining can send us an enquiry or apply directly using the options below:

We’re Clubmark Accredited!

Twyford & Ruscombe Cricket Club has been awarded the ECB Clubmark Accreditation.

ECB Clubmark is an accreditation scheme for cricket clubs which shows that a club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members. Clubmark accreditation shows that our club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people. It is only available to clubs with well managed, safe junior sections and clubs who are able to create a benchmark for high quality community club cricket.

It is built around a set of core, nationally recognised criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

Clubmark aims to make sure the nation's sports Club infrastructure is safer, stronger and more successful and stands for higher standards of welfare, equality, coaching and management in community sports Clubs.

It highlights that our Club provides the right environment for everyone involved, ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy cricket and remain involved throughout their lives.

It gives us, along with clubs up and down the country, a best practice framework to adopt and maintain, thereby ensuring that Twyford & Ruscombe Cricket Club remains a high quality, well run club.

Safeguarding

We want everyone involved in cricket at TRCC to have a safe, positive experience and be welcomed and supported in their activities.

Twyford & Ruscombe Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members, both junior and adult. We believe it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents, carers or guardians associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others.

We comply fully with the ECB Safe Hands Policy – this is the England and Wales’ Cricket Board’s policy to safeguard children within cricket. It promotes good practice, helps raise awareness and ensures people know what to do if they have any concerns about children or about the behaviour of adults in cricket.

Whilst everyone is responsible for safeguarding, the Club Safeguarding Officer will make sure the appropriate policies and procedures are in place, and that everyone in regulated activity at our club, is vetted by the ECB. They are the go-to person that others come to if they have concerns, and having attended specific training, will know what to do in order to assist, or who to ask for further help.

Please raise any question or concerns with our club safeguarding officer:
