It was another wonderful summer of cricket for the young stars of TRCC.
Youngsters aged between six and 15 worked on their skills at training sessions and matches throughout the season and have seen massive improvements.
The club’s coaches are delighted with the progress that has been made in all teams in 2025 and are looking forward to more in 2026.
Several of the club’s under-15 players have made their senior debuts this season.
Jacob Ingram and Ying Chaun Chang have been regulars for the TRCC 2s and Sunday sides and Charlie Shearsby, Sean Lilford and Dylan Taylor all made their first appearances.
Charlie's fearless batting against two veteran bowlers for the Sunday side was particularly enjoyable.
The season culminated with the annual awards, with hundreds of youngsters and adults alike gathering on the (then) parched Stanlake Meadow for an evening of cricket fun and presentations.
The winners:
Under 9s
U9 Caps for Max Wheeler, Cara Le Cornu, Eddie Chandler and Arthur Evans-Turner

The evening saw the usual water-related chaos, followed by perfectly cooked burgers and sausages from the hard-working barbecue team.
The awards was the last for the club’s Head of Junior Cricket, Spence Nichols.
He said: “It was great to see the progress the juniors of all ages made throughout the season.
“The warm weather has meant we’ve been able to play a lot of matches this season and the improvement of all the players has been noticeable.
“It’s also brilliant to see the likes of Jacob, Yin, Charlie and Dylan come into the adult sides and do so well.
“Next year should be very exciting as more of the juniors start their senior careers.”
Twyford and Ruscombe CC Chairman Simon Burr added: “I’d like to thank Spence and all the coaches for their hard work over the course of the season.
“It’s so rewarding to see the energy from them and the junior players on a Friday evening and I can’t wait to see more progress in 2026.”
“Spence has put in a tremendous effort over the past few years and I’d like to personally thank him for all the work he has put in to build the club’s junior section into what it is today.”
